Even after the July Revolution and the departure of most of the neighborhood's residents to their countries, the neighborhood was inhabited by the elite of Egyptian society, which maintained its luster and fame as an upper-class neighborhood. The neighborhood was inhabited by a group of ministers, thinkers, and artists, which made the state pay great attention to it.

The neighborhood is located in eastern Cairo and its area reaches about 9 square kilometers and is inhabited by about 136 thousand people. The neighborhood is close to several important areas and neighborhoods in Cairo, such as: Al-Zeitoun, Nasr City, Ain Shams, and Al-Waili.
